Robert Morris University has a well-established history, having been offering fine education for more than 90 years. It is located on a 230-acre residential campus just 15 minutes from the bustle of downtown Pittsburgh. There are also locations in Chicago, Bensenville, DuPage, Lake County, Orland Park, Peoria, Springfield, and Schaumburg. The university offers state-of-the-art facilities and a leading edge curriculum so that students can not only learn the theory of fitness and exercise, but gain practical, hands-on experience too. The staff is exceptional and has real-world experience to bring to the classroom.

Robert Morris University offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Fitness and Exercise. This program is designed to ensure students are both physically and academically prepared for a career in the area of fitness and exercise. Through the courses offered in this program, students will learn how to assess an individual and design and implement a fitness program for individuals and groups. Students will have full knowledge of a range of fitness activities and will also be able to choose healthy lifestyle choices for themselves and for their clients. The program focus is on designing and conducting fitness programs, exercise science theory, and training principles.

Once students have successfully completed this program, they will be fully qualified to work as an Aerobics Instructor, Fitness Therapist, Fitness Instructor, Fitness Specialist, Water Fitness Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, and Nutrition Consultant. Students are also prepared to move on to get their certification as a Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, or Lifestyle and Weight Management Consultant by completing the following certifications: American College of Sports Medicine - Personal Trainer and Health/Fitness Instructor, American Council on Exercise (ACE), and American Red Cross - CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Sports Safety Training. The university offers career services to help ensure that graduates have the best chance of finding a job in their field.
