The Miami-Jacobs Career College has campuses in the following locations in Ohio: Akron, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Springboro, Troy, and Sharonville. This college has a long-standing tradition of excellence, having been founded in the 1860s. The Miami-Jacobs Career College offers a Cosmetology program, a Cosmetology Management program, a Nail Technology program, and an Esthetics program.

The Cosmetology program offers students the opportunity to learn in an up-to-date setting. They learn about hair care, cutting, styling, wigs, hair additions, chemical texturizing, coloring, and nail and skin services. When they are finished the program, students are well equipped to work in salons, spas, department stores, nursing and residential care homes, as well as drug and cosmetics stores.

The Cosmetology Management program allows students to gain the cosmetology skills that are taught in the Cosmetology program and also to develop professional relationships; understand the administrative code of the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology; have knowledge in salon operations, rules, and regulations; develop a business plan, including a marketing plan for an independent contractor or a spa; and perform office management functions, such as bookkeeping tasks and managing the front desk of a salon.

The Nail Technician program will prepare students to work in spa or salon setting and covers the following skills: manicuring, electric filing, applying nail tips, wraps, gels, acrylic nails, nail art, and pedicuring. Students will work in a hands-on environment where they will be prepared to work exclusively on nails, perform manicures and pedicures, perform hand, arm, and foot massage, apply artificial nails, and perform nail art.

Finally, the Esthetics program will prepare students for a stimulating career as a skin care specialist with the knowledge of basic and advanced face and body treatments, facials, hair removal, make-up design, and relaxation massage. In all of these programs, students learn business skills and practice in a real-life salon setting.
