Daytona State College is located in Daytona Beach, Florida and has campuses throughout Volusia and Flagler Counties. The college offers a comprehensive cosmetology program that is designed to bring the most current training methods to students as they receive practical hands-on training in cosmetology law, ethics, cosmetic chemistry, hair styling, and salon management. There are modern facilities and students will learn and practice techniques in the classroom before moving on to their practical experience in the on-site student salon. Once students complete the program they will be fully qualified to work as a hairdresser, fashion photo stylist, behind-the-scenes hair show stylist, platform artist, retail sales specialist, hair colorist, salon manager, or salon owner.

As part of the Cosmetology program, students can train to receive their Nail Specialty Certificate. This program teaches the esthetics of hands, arms and nails, manicuring, pedicuring, nail anatomy, nail wrap, nail disorders and diseases, sculptured nails, and nail art. Students will also be informed about Florida law and they will learn salon management techniques, employability skills, and the principles of entrepreneurship. Students will understand how to run a business and will be able to work as a nail technician or a nail specialist upon graduation.

When students graduate from Daytona State College from either the Cosmetology program or the Nail Specialty program, they will be fully prepared to work in a real-life setting and they will have the business skills they need to move ahead and manage a salon or own their own business. The school offers career services to ensure that students have support when it comes to finding a job after graduation. The staff and faculty play an important role in helping students as they act as mentors, teachers, guides, and friends. These are people with real-world experience who can help students excel.
